Right now
They keep asking the same question
What may be happening
The question is being asked again because the answer isn't being stored — and usually because something underneath it feels unsettled. Repetition is often anxiety looking for reassurance, not information.
What to try right now
- Answer the feeling first, in a calm voice, then answer the question briefly.
- Use the same short words each time; new phrasing restarts the worry.
- Write the answer on paper and leave it where they can find it.
- Move into something to do together — hands busy, worry quieter.
Try saying
"You're all set. I've got it handled — you don't have to worry about it."
"It's at four o'clock. I'll be with you the whole time."
"I'm right here. Sit with me a minute."
